Subtitling, captioning and dubbing provider IYUNO Media Group is nearing completion of a security enhancement overhaul of its 15 regional offices, with the help of risk assessment and compliance services firm Convergent Risks, the companies announced June 3.
“… Convergent Risks’ security consultants have closely guided us through the upgrade process and kept us on budget, while providing a customized information security management system and conducting process mapping exercises, workflow walk-throughs, pre-assessments and penetration testing, culminating in TPN [Trusted Partner Network] security assessments,” he said. “These efforts have helped us achieve a truly unified approach to the organization’s security program.”
Chris Johnson, CEO of Convergent Risks, added: “It was impressive to see the security buy-in from IYUNO’s senior executive management team, and the introduction of a Global Security Steering Group, which immediately improved IYUNO’s working practices for content security
“Most vendor facilities face similar hurdles in enhancing security in the face of today’s threats, but the larger and more diverse the group, the more challenges are involved. A unified approach to the organization’s security program has been the driving force of the success that IYUNO has been able to achieve.”
IYUNO and Convergent Risks will discuss the results of their partnership June 19 during the HITS Europe Annual Summit in London.
In separate news June 5, Convergent Risks launched a new “Privacy Control Framework and Requirements for Implementation” initiative, one that provides a structure for managing personal data, allowing businesses to demonstrate they are in compliance with the requirements of both the EU’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), which goes into effect Jan. 1, 2020.
“Global regulators are increasingly expecting privacy management to be embedded throughout an organization. The most effective, efficient and scalable approach is to implement and maintain one consistent privacy management program that maps to multiple laws,” said Stephanie Iyayi, SVP of business and legal affairs at Convergent Risks. “[Convergent’s framework] offers a comprehensive industry neutral listing of privacy management activities that can be monitored and tracked, structured into clear categories.
“We perform compliance assessments and gap analysis on client’s specific departments, individual offices or across entire operations globally. We provide comprehensive reports of our findings tailored specifically to each organisation, which can be shared with third parties to provide GDPR or CCPA program evidence. Adopting our framework can help to support regulatory compliance with data protection legislation, identify and manage risks to personal information, enhance customer loyalty and protect your reputation.”
