In this month’s blog, we reflect on the diverse backgrounds, inclusive environments and multinational employees that make up our global team. As a cultural melting pot, our organization's core values emphasize the importance of diversity and inclusion in the workplace. Every day we are actively engaged in regions and with cultures that represent all corners of the world. With new organizational growth comes more opportunities to further diversify our team's skillsets, perspectives and opinions. Our diversity is our identity – and of incredible value to us because understanding and representing global audiences helps us tell more stories, to more people around the world.
Diversity refers to the traits, backgrounds and characteristics that make people unique while inclusion refers to the behaviours, social norms, and how well the contributions, presence and perspectives of different groups of people are valued, represented and welcomed into an environment. Diversity is the "what" and inclusion is the "how."
We embrace diversity and inclusivity and want to ensure we create a workplace environment that fosters and promotes it.
As a global company, we have employees who come from contrasting cultures and backgrounds, and who are of different genders, races, nationalities, sexual orientations, religious affiliation and identities. Our executive leaders work tirelessly to cultivate a workplace environment that fosters their diversity, embraces all employees and promotes success. Grounded in these inclusive values and internal experiences, we propel forward in growing our global client base and serving them in enriching ways that allow them to better connect with their global audiences.
Through companywide training and development, team leaders and regional managers also embrace their diversity and equal representation in workplace culture. We hold them accountable for implementing policies, initiatives and tools designed to increase their individual diverse viewpoints as well as the collective perspectives of their teams. With their help, each role at Iyuno feels equally involved in and supported in all areas of the workplace and team dynamics.
As part of our drive to find new ways to equip global teams with the proper knowledge and skills to implement diversity and inclusion initiatives, Iyuno is participating in Yale’s Online Fostering Diversity & Inclusion Program. The program equips us with concepts and skills that will enable better business decision-making through the creation of more diverse teams and the use of inclusivity techniques. One of the lessons we are learning has given us the proper insights and tools to recreate our approach to team meetings. An approach that encourages a wider array of individuals to openly share the full range of their abilities and ideas as we collectively drive towards a resolution.
In that spirit, our Chief People Officer, Sarah Greene, and supporting Global Human Resources team will create an informative and educational Diversity and Inclusivity Program tailored to Iyuno’s niche company culture coming out of Yale’s Online Fostering Diversity & Inclusion Program program. Once created and endorsed by our executive leaders, it will be circulated to team leaders and regional managers so that the benefits of the comprehensive program are cascaded to every team on a local level. We look forward to further developing our diverse team, strengthening this inclusive environment and learning how to better utilize each and every skillset our employees bring to Iyuno.
Acceptance, collaboration, innovation and effectiveness.
